What types of surf and kitesurf lessons do you offer?
At Surfers Island, we offer a variety of surf lessons catering to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced surfers. Additionally, we provide kitesurf lessons in the beautiful lagoon of Sotavento, close to the ION Club in Jandia. Check out all the different kitesurf courses and surf courses.
Are your instructors certified?
Yes, all our instructors are highly qualified and certified by reputable surfing and kitesurfing organizations such as the International Surfing Association (ISA) and relevant kiteboarding associations (such as VDWS and IKO). They have extensive experience and are dedicated to ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment. On top of that also our school is certified by the IKO. What equipment do I need for a surf or kitesurf lesson?
For a surf lesson, you'll need a surfboard, leash, wetsuit (depending on water temperature), and sunscreen. For kitesurfing, you'll need a kite, harness, board, wetsuit, helmet and safety equipment. Don't worry if you don't have your own equipment – we provide all necessary gear for our lessons.
Can I rent surf or kitesurf equipment from Surfers Island?
Absolutely! We offer a range of surf and kitesurf equipment for rent, including boards, kites, harnesses, wetsuits, leashes, and more. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced surfer or kitesurfer, we have the gear you need to hit the waves or the lagoon. Check out our prices and info here.
Where are your surf and kitesurf lessons held?
Our surf lessons take place at various stunning surf spots around Fuerteventura, including La Pared, Esquinzo and Cruz Roja. Our kitesurf lessons are conducted in the beautiful lagoon of Sotavento, close to the ION Club in Jandia.
Do you offer pick-up/drop-off services?
Yes, we provide pick-up and drop-off services for our surf and kitesurf lessons and equipment rentals. We can arrange transportation from your accommodation or a designated meeting point to the surf spot or lagoon, making it convenient for you to join us for your surfing or kitesurfing adventure.
What safety measures do you have in place?
Safety is our top priority. Our instructors conduct thorough safety briefings before each lesson, covering topics such as ocean or lagoon awareness, surf or kite etiquette, and potential hazards. We also closely monitor weather and sea/lagoon conditions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

What happens if the weather conditions are unfavorable?
In the event of unfavorable weather conditions, such as strong winds or dangerous surf or kite conditions, we may reschedule or cancel lessons for safety reasons. We always prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and will provide alternative options whenever possible.
